The pioneering Pastor was Pastor Fred Odekhian and ably supported by two altar ministers; Brothers Ezekiel Oni and Steve Funmilayo (Assistant Pastors in charge of Province and Pastor in Charge of Zone respectively) and a set of graduating workers of Divine Covenant Parish. Total membership at the beginning was 25. It is not an over statement to say that Destiny Sanctuary confronted some huge challenges in its early years. Major among such challenges confronted that stagnated her growth at the beginning was because of the venue of worship at the Oba S. A. Balogun Multipurpose Hall across the road from the present site of the church, where the church did not have 100 percent control of the worship Centre. Consequently, the parish had to compete for space with several users like night clubbers and other socio-cultural engagements.
