Destiny Sanctuary- A baby of Divine Covenant Parish, Iyana-Ipaja formerly of RCCG, Lagos State 3, was born on March 15, 1998. (All of now Lagos Province 12)
The pioneering Pastor was Pastor Fred Odekhian and ably supported by two altar ministers; Brothers Ezekiel Oni and Steve Funmilayo (Assistant Pastors in charge of Province and Pastor in Charge of Zone respectively) and a set of graduating workers of Divine Covenant Parish. Total membership at the beginning was 25. It is not an over statement to say that Destiny Sanctuary confronted some huge challenges in its early years. Major among such challenges confronted that stagnated her growth at the beginning was because of the venue of worship at the Oba S. A. Balogun Multipurpose Hall across the road from the present site of the church, where the church did not have 100 percent control of the worship Centre. Consequently, the parish had to compete for space with several users like night clubbers and other socio-cultural engagements.
Despite these challenges, through the grace of God and the visionary leadership and doggedness of the pioneering Pastor and his team of Ministers and Workers, Destiny Sanctuary witnessed a tremendous growth in membership (numerically and spiritually) and the Lord led the church to purchase it present place of worship and construction started almost immediately.
The main church building which is the center of attraction of the property has a sitting capacity of about 1500 congregation. Other facility within the church premises are halls with total seating capacity of about 600 for children, Pre-Teens and Teenage churches.
Destiny Sanctuary by the grace of God had given birth over the years to not less than twenty parishes and mission fields, with one of the parishes located in New York, USA and another in Canada.
The Parish became an Area Headquarters in year 2000. The second Pastor in charge of the Parish was Pastor Olumide Ajayi who with the body of Ministers continued the work of God and took on ‘some of the building construction work as well to the completion stage. Destiny Sanctuary became a Zonal Headquarters in 2010 under the leadership of Pastor Tayo Abiodun. It also by the grace of God gave birth to two additional zones in January 2011.
Destiny Sanctuary which was not only a parish, an area and zonal headquarters, also is a center of the campuses of the School of Disciples and Redeemed Christian Bible College.
In year 2012 the Parish became a Provincial Headquarters of Lagos Province 38 and in twenty parishes and mission field with one of the parishes located in New York, USA and in 2018, Destiny Sanctuary became the Region 1 headquarters annex which was the base of the Assistant Pastor in Charge of Region 1.
The nomenclature of the church change from a Provincial Headquarters and the base of the Assistant pastor in charge of Region to a Regional Headquarters.
The Parish Destiny Sanctuary and as a Provincial Headquarters has contributed immensely to creation of Provinces such as (LP71, LP90, LP94). To the Glory of God in September 2022 .It became a Regional Headquarters with nine Provinces under it led by Pastor Dele Jayeoba.
